Our 1st game: Have a sip

Journey with a quiet robot who inherits a traveling coffee truck.
Keep a cozy space for strangers and regulars.
Master brewing and learn the rhythms of the business.

In a city optimized for hustle,
would you still serve with mindfulness and care?

Have a sip follows PICO-8, a self-aware domestic helper robot, as he embarks on a new journey: brewing drinks, running a coffee truck, and learning about people from all walks of life.

At its core, it is not just a cozy cafe management game. Instead, it’s an engine to tell warmer stories — more relevant than ever in a world that feels increasingly cold, chaotic and optimized:

  • The self-imagined adventure of a father-daughter duo, highlighting both the struggles and the joy of parenthood.

  • Ruminations of a small business owner as he walks the fine line between letting people go and keeping the business afloat.

  • Old friends catching up, reminiscing about “the good old days”.

  • And more: stories of heartbreak, funny hobbies, or simply calm moments.

If you like slice-of-life stories, iyashikei (healing) or mono no aware feels, Have a sip will feel just right.

Above it all, we sincerely hope that the stories here will light up something warmer in you. And when you wake up again, the world feels a bit less optimized, and more alive.

We also run the game’s companion blog, called After Sunset, and Before Sunrise. This is where the world-building, story and character development happen.

BitsGofer Studio

We are a game studio that aims to create meaningful interactive experiences.

It’s a loaded statement. But we do think games that age well offer more than just dopamine highs. Timeless games have aftertaste. For our studio, we want that to be positivity, calmness, new perspectives on life and sometimes, even a useful skill.

We also see game-making as a craft. As such, we invest a lot of care in writing, art, music and software development.

Now, if you know me in real life, you’ll see that “BitsGofer Studio” has been around for a few years.

It now exists somewhere between ideas and reality, living solely in the pockets of time between my demanding day job and other life’s duties. Hopefully this “moonlighting” will turn itself into something more substantial in the years to come.

Wow, you reached this far, thank you ^_^

I will (infrequently) update on the state of Have a sip, as well as what I learned while trying to build the game studio.

If any of this sounds interesting, please feel free to leave your email below to keep in touch.

Cheers,
